March 26, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

Over the next few months, I will be adding a lot of great resources to www.ScrapbooksAlive.com. It won’t just be a blog. It will be an online community for video scrapbooking enthusiasts. It will be the perfect place for you to meet up with other video scrapbooking enthusiasts and share ideas. This site will cover topics such as video editing on a Mac vs PC, digital scrapbooking software, video editing software, camcorders and cameras for hobbyists, where to buy video products such as blank CDs, DVDs, DVD jackets, etc.

To stay up to date with the latest news at Scrapbooks Alive, make sure you sign up for our ezine (in the right column). You will be the first to know when new features are added to this site.

If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see, please leave a comment.

Brainstorming video means serious business

March 23, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

Check out this cute video my MM friend, Kelly McCausey, created on brainstorming. The beach ball is her new office toy. She calls it her weird version of a dream board because she has written some of her main business goals and life goals on the ball.

Great job, Kelly!

Sidenote: Kelly is the host of Work at Home Mom Talk Radio. She is also my business coach.

The great megapixel debate

Do more megapixels make better pictures? Some experts say no while camera makers say yes.

I found this great article on c/net about this very debate. You can read about it here and decide for yourself.

Get a FREE issue of Videomaker magazine

I’ve been reading Videomaker magazine for the last couple of years and LOVE it! It’s written more for the professional videographer. For example, it provides lots of information on high-end products that hobbyists would probably never invest in. However, it has lots of great tips for the hobbyist.

It’s worth taking a look at. You can grab your free issue of Videomaker here.

Grouping Items in Adobe Premiere Elements

March 2, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

I was recently working on a project in Adobe Premiere Elements that had multiple scenes. Each scene had a video clip, title page, music, sound clips, and voice over narration. To keep each of these scenes together (timed correctly), you can group them. That way, if you need to insert something in the middle of your video, you can do so without messing up the layout of the rest of your video.

To group items, hold down the SHIFT key and click each item you want to include. Each item you select should stay highlighted. Then, right-click and select GROUP from the menu.

If you need to ungroup them, click the scene you want to ungroup, right-click, and then select UNGROUP.
