July 18, 2008 by Kim · Leave a Comment

Check out this great video that Sinbadlover from the Netherlands put together about her crazy horses. She captured the video and pictures with her Samsung A400. She also took some of the pictures with her Nikon D40.

She edited the video with Microsoft Movie Maker, which comes free on Windows PC.

Check Out This Spooktacular Video

Llamas, and goats, and geese… oh my! Logan had a spooktacular trip to the pumpkin patch with his Kindergarten class. I easily created this spooktacular video scrapbook with the help of One True Media. No… I’m really not that creative. One True Media did all the work. All I did was upload my pictures. They did the rest. It only took me about 15 minutes. It’s so simple.

The best part is I didn’t have to pay a dime. It’s free to share on the web.

Celebrate life’s greatest moments with a One True Media video montage.

Mutton Bustin with Tuff Hedeman

August 28, 2007 by Kim · 4 Comments

Here’s a short video I created of my son when he participated in the Mutton Bustin contest at the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Championship Challenge in 2006. I created this with iMovie ‘06, converted it to a Quicktime file, and uploaded it to YouTube.

Landry stayed on a record breaking two seconds! (That number may be exagerrated a little.) He got up—with a little help from a rodeo clown, dusted off, and waved to the crowd of several thousand. Afterwards, he decided that he really doesn’t want to grow up to be a bull rider. (Whew! What a relief!) It’s been a year and a half and I think he’s still cleaning dirt out of his ear after his fall.

But it was definitely worth it. He is so proud of his trophy and belt buckle he won.

The Dogs of the Nowzad District

August 21, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

I stumbled across this great website this morning called dogster.com. It’s a community built for dog lovers, by dog lovers. I clicked the Video link to check out some of their videos. The first video I watched was The Nowzad Dogs.

While serving in Afghanistan, some Marines found 3 stray dogs. These dogs were frightened and in poor health. The Marines adopted them and let them live with them in the base in the remote village of Nowzad in southern Afghanistan. They formed “The Nowzad Dogs” – dedicated to rescuing these three dogs. Two of the dogs had puppies (11 total) while they were on the base. Then, there were 14 to rescue.

The Marines managed to get them to an Animal Rescue Center in Kabul. Now they are hoping to raise enough money to pay for the flights and quarantine costs to give these dogs a new life in the UK.

Please check out their video.

Adoption from China video scrapbooks

May 13, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

I admit it. I’m hooked on YouTube. I love watching all the great (and not so great videos). Tonight I found some wonderful video scrapbooks about different people’s journeys on adopting children from China. As I watched, it brought tears to my eyes. These are truly beautiful and lucky children. They are lucky to have such wonderful and loving parents. I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I did.

Achieve your dreams with a Video Vision Statement

April 30, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

Do you have any personal or business dreams/goals you want to achieve? Instead of just writing them down, why not create a Video Vision Statement? A vision statement describes what is important to you and what you want to achieve.

You can keep your video on your computer to watch every day to keep you focussed on your dreams/goals. Your video will help you build and maintain the motivation and the focus to achieve your dreams/goals.

The following video provides gives some information on Video Vision Statements:

Here’s an example of a Video Vision Statement that focuses on Tranquility.

No, I haven’t started my personal Video Vision Statement yet. However, I plan to do so in the near future.

Bluebonnets, Dinosaurs, and Sunshine

April 16, 2007 by Kim · Leave a Comment

I put together this video montage this morning using some photos I took at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. Once I uploaded the photos to my computer, it only took me about 30 minutes to create using iMovie on my iMac.

Here’s what I did:

  • Created the opening using Themes.
  • Inserted the pictures I wanted to include.
  • Inserted “Cross Dissolve” transitions between each picture.
  • Created scrolling text at the end of the video using the Title option.
  • Inserted music from iLife Sound Effects in the Audio tab.
  • Selected Quicktime from the Share menu and compressed the video for streaming media.
  • Uploaded the video to YouTube.
